Kataklysm, Aborted - The end of a long brutal tour
If Im not mistaken than this was the last show of the European tour of Kataklysm and Aborted. Metalrage of course couldnt miss a tour like this, therefore we were present with three reporters here tonight. Time for another night of brutality and inebriation.

Ive always digged Aborted as a live act, theyve always managed to bash the shit out of me and get me headbanging almost every time I see them. Tonight was no exception either. Having again replaced a couple of bandmembers since last time I saw them (the drummer and bassist), the band has still not lost an inch of its power at all. Instead, it seems like theyre only picking up more steam, judging by the flawless set they played here tonight. Obviously it didnt take long before my hair was flying in all directions, as well as my beer. Vocalist Svencho has cut off his hair but that doesnt mean hes lost his ways with the microphone as well, he did a splendid job barfing out some sick and violent lyrics. For a last show of a tour that lasted a month, they couldnt have done any better. They beat the shit out of Kataklysms performance to come, thats for sure. And they got me into thinking I should check out some of their music on record some time soon, cause this is some awesome brutal shit! (DemonDust)

And then it was time for Kataklysm to supersede the show of Aborted, what would prove to be a pretty tough job. I had seen Kataklysm at the beginning of this year in the Goudvishal, which by the way soon will be no more, where they gave a hell of a show. They sure did that again this night, but with a supporting band as Aborted its simply a hard job to be the climax of the night. Who did manage to give a more than superb and killer impression was drummer Max Duhamel, who is known for his hyperblasts. Damn, that guy is fast! There was one moment that I was like yeah this is a real cool roll, assuming he did it with two hands, but no! Simultaneously he was bashing with his other hand on a cymbal! You can imagine how fucking fast the blastbeats will sound; those are the fastest you will ever hear anywhere. For the rest the stage appearance is just a little bit less convincing than that of Aborted and Maurizio Iaconos voice only makes two sounds, either low grunts or high scream; there is little in between. This doesnt mean that Kataklysm gave a bad show, not at all. These experienced Canadians always put up a professional show, but as Maurizio said: Aborted has been doing a great job on this tour and we must add to that, that they did even better than Kataklysm.
